Randi DeAngelo Obituary

Randi Wiik DeAngelo, 61, passed away on Monday, March 31, at her home in Lenhartsville. Born on March 28, 1964 in Allentown, she was the wife of Eric DeAngelo and the daughter of Frederica Antram and the late Rodger Wiik.

She was a graduate of Louis E. Dieruff High School and Northampton Community College, and also attended Kutztown University. After working for many years in the libraries of Lafayette College, Kutztown University, and Lehigh Carbon Community College, she left the field to devote her time to home-schooling and raising her children.

Randi was a gifted artist with a keen eye, able to draw what she saw with passion and precision. Her cooking and baking talents were legendary. She had a playful and quirky sense of humor and a prodigious memory. She enjoyed seeing Broadway plays, visiting art museums, swimming in the ocean, and taking the children on a few epic Disney World adventures. She loved walking in Trexler Park with friends and hiking on local sections of the Appalachian Trail. She took great pride in, and worked hard at, decorating and maintaining her home. Halloween and Christmas were her favorite holidays, and she was a generous and thoughtful gift-giver.

Randi threw herself wholeheartedly into her childrens' education, homeschooling them through their first years and supporting, in so many ways, their academic, extracurricular and social activities through their subsequent schooling. She was so proud of each of them. She loved them fiercely.

Surviving, along with her husband Eric, are her children Alexandra, Christopher, and Katherine; her mother Frederica Antram (wife of Paul Antram); her brother Gregory (husband of Denise Wiik); her aunt Jackie (wife of Brian Bucks); nephew Tyler Wiik; nieces Samantha Wiik, Megan, Anna, and Bella DeAngelo; cousins Jordan Bucks, Dale Wiik, and Diane Evans; and many extended family members.

A memorial for Randi will be held at 11 AM on Saturday May 24 at Union Lutheran Church, 5500 PA-873, Schnecksville PA 18078.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Association for Cancer Research or the American Cancer Society.

I remember sharing my kitchen with Randi cooking and she saw and noted my ancient salad spinner. The very next time I saw her she had a new Oxo salad spinner for me, just because. She was always so observant and thoughtful.

So sorry to hear about the loss of Randi. We graduated high school together. She was always a kind hearted person. May she rest in peace and may her memory be eternal. And God bless her family.

The stories and zany adventures we shared; coincidentally wearing the exact same outfits, including green plaid coats, to accidentally driving through a lawn, waving at her favorite clown that I had to tell her wasn't real, singing olivia Newton John songs in what we found out was not a sound proof elevator, Mrs Stanzello asking you to take me to the nurses' office after I slipped on your ice cube and fell down the stairs, riding the same Rollercoaster over a dozen times in a row, driving in a storm with broken windshield wipers...and Hundreds more my friend, you were one of my life's best adventures .
