Raymond Zapf Obituary

Raymond "Ray" John Zapf, 66, of Sellersville, PA went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at his residence. Ray was the loving husband of Angela M. (Paparone) Zapf for 44 years. He was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Lothar Zapf and the late Else (Hagelstein) Zapf. Ray graduated from William Tennent High School in Warminster, PA, class of 1976. He graduated from Beaver College in Glenside, PA, class of 1979 with a bachelor's degree in science, and then graduated from Chestnut Hill School of Nursing in 1986. He was employed as a Registered Nurse for Grand View Hospital for 32 years. He was a member of the Zoe Christian Fellowship where he served as an usher. He was also a member of the Pennridge Pool Team and a volunteered for Warminster Ambulance Association as a teenager. He enjoyed collecting coins, stamps, playing tennis & pickleball. Ray was an avid reader, Flyers Fan, and enjoyed watching Westerns, War and Star Trek movies and shows. He loved his cats especially, Amelia & Dora. Ray was kind and caring on the inside, but a little crotchety on the outside. He was hard working, and a tendency to procrastinate. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Sarah A. Zapf & companion, Nathan Oresik of Hamilton, NJ; his brother, Anthony Zapf of Quakertown, PA; his sister, Sandra Marie Zapf & companion, Brad Miley of Quakertown, PA; his sister-in-law, Deb Zapf of Quakertown, PA; his two nieces, Randi Tomolonis & husband, Karl of Greentown, PA & Kalee Paparone of Upper Darby, PA; his three nephews, Chris McCormick of Stroudsburg, PA, Aaron Zapf of Decatur, GA, and Scott Zapf of Quakertown, PA; his great-niece, Cambria Zapf of Bangor, PA; his great-nephew, Sheamus Tomolonis of Greentown, PA; and his brother-in-law, Steven Paparone of Sellersville, PA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Monica L. McCormick and his nephew, Robert McCormick. A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025 from 9:00 am - 10:00 am at Anders-Detweiler Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 E. Broad St., Souderton, PA 18964, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to David Huskey Ministries, P.O Box 678, Sweetwater, TN 37874. I was so sorry to learn of Ray´s passing. I worked with Ray at GVH and he touched many lives in the very best way. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. Until you are reunited once again in heaven, cherish the memories and remember the love.
