Richard H. Bapst Jr.

Richard H. Bapst, Jr., age 72, of Lafayette Hill, PA passed away on April 7, 2025 at Pennsylvania Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of 47 years to Mary Bapst. He was born in Buffalo, NY to the late Richard and Rose Bapst. Richard was a graduate of Iroquois Central School Class of 1970 in Elma, NY, earned his bachelor's degree from Niagara University and his Masters in Business Administration from Arizona State University. He was employed in the recycling industry for most of his career-a champion of sustainability, always promoting novel solutions for waste reduction and reuse. He was a mentor to many and had an envious golf swing. Those who knew him will remember he found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially the ability to unwind and relax after a long day, enjoying the company of loved ones and savoring good food. Oftentimes, his idea of fun was helping others with home improvement-his traveling toolbox got a lot of miles. Richard loved his children and grandchildren and always had words of wisdom for them including who to root for in the Super Bowl.
In addition to his wife Mary, he is survived by his 2 children, 3 granddaughters, 2 sisters,
and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was a member of St. Philip Neri Church in Lafayette Hill, and a member of the former SS. Cosmas and Damian Church.

and missed beyond measure."
Relatives and friends are invited to a Visitation from 10-11 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 14, 2025 at St. Philip Neri Church, 437 Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA. Interment will be held at a later date at St. Vincent de Paul Church Cemetery in Elma, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Richard can be sent to Penn Medicine Development and Alumni Relations, 3535 Market St., Suite 750, Philadelphia, PA 19104.
