Richard Hoffman Obituary
He was the husband of Debra Jean (Coldren) Hoffman, whom he married May 2, 1981.
Born in Reading, PA on February 3, 1956, he was a son of the late Mark R., and Margaret A. (Bower) Hoffman.
Rick was a 1974 graduate of Muhlenberg High School and the Reading / Muhlenberg Vo-Tech. He also attended Lincoln Technical Institute and the Schmidt Training & Technology Center at Reading Area Community College.
He was a member of Calvary Bible Fellowship Church, Sinking Spring, where he was also a deacon.
Rick was employed twenty-four years in the maintenance department with Dana/Parish Corporation, Reading until their closing in 2001.
After Dana's closing, he worked in maintenance for various companies, last working for Caron Foundation, Wernersville, before retiring March 2024.
He was a former cub scout and boy scout leader.
Rick loved his cars and enjoyed working on them.
He is also survived by three children: Ryan M. Hoffman, husband of Laura Mackay of Alberta, Canada; Drew B. Hoffman of Harrisburg; and Rachel E. Hoffman, widow of Sean Clark of Lancaster.
Other survivors include two sisters: Linda, wife of Thomas Rhomberg of York, and Deborah A., widow of Larry I. Forry, Jr. of Laureldale.
A viewing will be held Monday, February 10th from 9:00 – 10:00 am in Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale, with services beginning at 10:00 am.
Burial will be in Zion's Cemetery of Perry Township.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Calvary Bible Fellowship Church, 4891 Penn Avenue, Sinking Spring, PA 19608.

Rick was a good man who I met at Calvary Church. In Bible Study he often expressed his faith in the LORD. A serious man with a great smile.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.. as an electrician at Dana our shops were next to each other. He was always easy going and we did manage to have fun from time to time.

I am so sorry to hear of Rick's passing. I always enjoyed working with Rick. I'll miss seeing him walk past my house and the good conversations we often had. Wish I could attend the service, but I just found out about his passing today and have a commitment on Monday morning.

Spent many years working in I spent many years in maintenance gang at Dana with Rick. Always admired his Christian attitude. will miss time spent at Dana retirees picnics with Rick. He is healed. Sorry for your loss.
