Richard Remaley Obituary

Richard D. Remaley, 80, of Slatington, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2025 at Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Allentown. Born in North Whitehall Township, August 22, 1945, Richard was the son of the late Benjamin C. and Elma S. (Newhard) Remaley. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War era. He was employed as a produce manager at ShopRite in Allentown and King of Prussia for many years. Since his formal retirement, he worked part-time at True Value in Schnecksville. He was a member of Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, the Allen O. Delke American Legion Post # 16, Slatington, the Slatington Skeet Club, the Copeechan Fish & Game Club, the Emeral Fire Company, and the Slatington Moose. Survivors: Sister, Dorothy V. Best of Allentown; brothers, John J. Remaley and his wife, Nancy of Allentown, Benjamin C. Remaley, Jr. and his wife, Eleanor of Benton; many nieces and nephews; predeceased by siblings, Adeline R. Miller, Grace E. Schneck, and Forrest Remaley. Service: A private graveside service with military honors will be held at Union Church Cemetery, Neffs. The Rev. Kayi L. Freeman will be officiating. The Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., in Schnecksville has been entrusted with the arrangements. Online expressions of sympathy may be recorded at www.heintzelmancares.com. We will miss Rich's smiling face, his belly laugh and his sense of humor. We had so many good times together and reminisced many times on all the stupidness we pulled over the years. He was a great friend and confidant.
