Rita Tornetta Obituary

Rita E. Tornetta, 93, of Blue Bell, PA, passed away peacefully at home on February 2, 2025. Rita was the beloved wife of the late Anthony F. Tornetta and the cherished daughter of the late Nicolas and Mary (Cugino) Venditta of Malvern, PA. She was the last of twelve siblings to join them. She graduated from St. Patrick Elementary School and Tredyffrin Easttown High School. Rita was a long-time and devout member of Epiphany of Our Lord and generously donated to charities, particularly St. Jude's Children Hospital. She helped develop a successful commercial real estate partnership with her daughter and son-in-law, building a legacy of strength and perseverance. Rita and Anthony shared a passion for horse racing and proudly owned racehorses that competed in the Kentucky Derby. Rita was a long-time member of Plymouth Country Club and Turnberry Isle Country Club in Aventura, Florida, where she was an avid golfer for many years. She enjoyed evenings at the casino and dinners with dear friends. Rita's greatest love was her family; she treasured every moment vacationing and enjoying quiet Sunday dinners with her daughter and grandchildren by her side. Our beloved mother and grandmother will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and her legacy of love, determination, and generosity will continue to inspire those she has left behind. Rita was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Beloved mother of two, her son Leonard Tornetta preceded her in death. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Mary T. Benedict (Peter) of Gwynedd Valley, PA. She was blessed with five grandchildren: Anthony Tornetta (Stacy), Jason Tornetta (Molly), Michael Benedict, Deana (Vincent), and Christine (Mike), and ten great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to a Viewing from 9:00-10:45 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Epiphany of Our Lord Church, 3050 Walton Rd., Plymouth Meeting, PA.
