Robert Carter Obituary

Robert C. Carter, Jr. went to be with his Heavenly Father on April 26, 2025. An intensely loving and devoted father, husband, son, brother, uncle, and cousin, his passion, purpose and greatest joy in life was his family. Born in Philadelphia, PA, on December 9, 1976, Rob was the beloved son of Bonnie Templin and Robert Carter, Sr. He grew up in the Mount Airy section of Philadelphia, cherishing his times in and around the neighborhood and the friendships he developed throughout his youth. Raised in the Lord, his Christian faith profoundly shaped his character and guided everything he did, including the kindness and love he showed others. Rob had an enduring love of learning. After graduating High School from Philmont Christian Academy, he continued his studies at Lafayette College, earning a degree in Political Science. He continued his studies in Government & Law by attending Villanova Law School, where he graduated with his Juris Doctor and eventually earned a Master of Business Administration from Purdue University. A voracious reader, with a tremendous passion for knowledge, Rob was always willing to lend one of his books or share his wisdom with someone struggling or seeking help. His love for and eclectic taste in music, ranging from Fleetwood Mac and Steely Dan to Third Day and 90's Hip Hop, was a passion he passed on to his children, especially his oldest, Blu. Introverted and introspective, Rob loved nature and was known to lead nature walks to help others develop a greater appreciation for God's handy-work. Sports also played a significant role in his life. A life-long Eagles fan, football season was always a special time in the Carter household and served as critical family bonding time. Basketball season brought the chance for him to coach his sons, Robert and Luke, sharing his experience and knowledge of the game; while baseball season afforded him the opportunity to cheer them (and every other kid) on from the sidelines. Anyone who knew Rob was drawn to his inner strength and calm. Known by many as a gentle giant with a kind and unassuming spirit, Rob found true happiness in lifting others up. Rob was a consummate cheerleader for others, always celebrating their triumphs and sharing in their joys. With patience, compassion, and endless encouragement, he made everyone feel valued and supported. Rob's impact and support were constants in the lives of his children and others. To know Rob was to love him. Rob is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 23 years, Janeese (nee Armero), and their beautiful children, Aleah (Blu), Robert III, and Luke. He also leaves behind his devoted mother, Bonnie Templin; his beloved sister, Kristin Bernet (nee Carter); brothers-in-law, Henry Bernet and Evan Spano; and sister-in-law, Amanda Spano (nee Hogue). As "Uncle Rob" he was a loving force to his four nieces, Kiley, Reagan, Heather, and Veronica. Family and friends are invited to Rob's Celebration of Life on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, from 5 pm to 7 pm at Boyd Horrox Givnish Life Celebration Home of East Norriton, 200 West Germantown Pike. An additional viewing will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Calvary Chapel of Norristown, 601 N Park Ave., from 10 am to 10:50 am, with his funeral service to follow at 11 am. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park. In honor of Rob's love of sports and dedication to his community, the family welcomes guests to wear the local youth sports jersey of their choice. Suits are not required. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rob's memory can be made to Big Oak Ranch - A Christian Home For Children Needing a Chance. The family will also be setting up a Memorial Fund in Rob's name.
