Ruth W. Neville

Ruth (West) Neville, 95, of Pottstown PA, peacefully passed away Monday, January 6, 2025, in her sleep. Ruth grew up in Ardmore Pa, the daughter of Ruth (Nelson) West and Dr. Bradford West, who preceded her. Ruth attended and graduated from Lower Merion High School. Ruth also attended the University of Pennsylvania having pledged the Delta Delta Delta sorority and graduated (1951). After marrying Warren, the family moved to Bryn Mawr PA; Birmingham MI; Wyckoff NJ, Lincolnshire IL; and Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, before settling in Lower Pottsgrove, PA. Ruth was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Pottstown. An active volunteer, Ruth spent much of her free time at the Pottstown Memorial Medical Hospital who recognized her for her selfless efforts. When not volunteering, Ruth enjoyed being a homemaker, and working on her needlework, including knitting hats for the newborns and cancer treatment patients at the hospital. Preceded in death by husband Warren Neville, brother Bradford West, Jr, and sister-in-law Nancy (Hull) West; Ruth precedes her daughter Carol (Neville) Formanek, and son Warren (Skip) Neville Jr. Also, daughter-in-law, Sara (Bahls) Neville, as well as her niece Barbara (Joseph) Reisenwitz, and nephew Steven (Franziska Seraphim) West. Ruth's large and loving family includes six grandchildren: Kelly (Casey) Duggan, Jennifer (Chad) Hansen, Arin (Suzanne) Formanek, Whitney (Neville) Self, Ryan (Katelin) Formanek, Kyle Neville, and three step grandchildren: Jennifer (Bryan) Spear, Chris (Shannon) Durre, Elizabeth Williams. She was the proud grandmother of fifteen great grandchildren. Ruth has chosen to donate her body to the Humanity Gifts Registry to help advance the education of medical students. Upon completion of study, Ruth's body will be cremated, and she has asked for no further funeral arrangements. Please express your condolences at www.houckgofusfuneralhome.com.
