Sandra Jean (Miller) Evans, age 80, passed away peacefully in her home early in the morning of
Thursday, June 19, 2025, with her loving daughter, Sharon Ann (Evans) Magee, by her side.
Born on February 6, 1945 in Shamokin, PA, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth H. and
Anna Mae (Renn) Miller.
Sandra at age 10 became a caring sister to her late younger brother, John R. Miller, who is
survived through his wife Crystal (Ehrenzeller) Miller of Liverpool, PA. In her youth, she adored
spending time with her beloved aunts, Betty Jane and Violet Lorraine Renn, both now passed.
At age 12, Sandra met her lifelong love, the late William "Bill" Clayton Evans. Bill, stunned by
Sandra's undeniable radiance, called every Sandra Miller in the local phone book until he found
the girl who had stolen his heart. They were married on January 4, 1964.
From their love came four children: Mark William of Beaver Springs, PA, the late Shawn Robert,
who is survived through his wife, Kristin Ruth (Reist) of Elverson, PA, Sharon Ann, wife of
Brian Magee of Douglassville, PA, and Michael David and his wife Alicia Marie (McDaniel) of
Perkiomenville, PA. Sandra, a skilled homemaker, had her hands full caring for her
gentle-hearted, though mischievous children.
Her memory will live on through them, as well as through her grandchildren-Mark "Zachary"
and his wife Katie, Nicole, Amanda and her husband Matt, Morgan, Kendall and Michael-as
well as her great-grandchildren-Colton and Zoie. To them, she was a gifted storyteller and wise
teacher.
Not one for bustling cities, Sandra enjoyed spending time in nature, whether on a leisurely stroll
or staying at the family cabin in Sullivan County, PA. She also took joy in caring for many
animals throughout her life; from cats to bunnies to dogs and even a chinchilla, Sandra cherished
all of God's creatures.
With the heart of a dutiful servant, Sandra devoted herself to charity for those in need throughout
her life, even when she herself had little to give. She contributed to animal welfare campaigns
and children's hospitals. She offered her love to any in need, from close friends to acquaintances
or strangers. At Christmas, she would bake some of her famous goodies for her neighbors,
ensuring no one was ever left wanting.
Above all, she was a devoted Christian in the congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. "God
himself will be with them. And He will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no
more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore" (Rev. 21:3b-4).
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service at the Kingdom Hall of
Jehovah's Witnesses at 460 E Cedarville Rd, Pottstown, PA, on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 2:00
pm. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Mercury One, P.O. Box
121925 Dallas, TX 75312-1925, or the
Samaritan's Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
