Selina Winchester, 59, of Easton, formerly of Bowie, MD, passed away after a long battle against cancer on February 4th, 2025, in St. Luke's Hospital-Anderson Campus surrounded by loved ones. Born on February 6th, 1965, in Rainbow City Canal Zone, Panama, Selina Newell Winchester was the fourth and last child of Eva B. Newell and Jaceline B. Newell. She worked in public relations at the Girl Scouts of America, Planned Parenthood, and the office of Susan Wild of Pennsylvania's 7th Congressional District. Additionally, she eagerly volunteered for the Easton democrats and held multiple leadership positions in The National Council of Negro Women (NCNW). She enjoyed cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles and the Penn State volleyball and football teams, embracing culture and the arts in all forms, learning about Black History, traveling around the world, and entertaining loved ones with perfectly curated parties. She always brought the best dish to the potluck. Selina was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Bethlehem. Surviving are her two children, Zachary Bancroft Winchester of Osaka, Japan, and Rachel Teresa Winchester and her partner Albert Robles-Montas of Philadelphia, PA; former husband Lawrence Richard Winchester III, of Newark, NJ; a sister, Veronica Newell of Bethlehem, and two brothers, Arcelio Newell and his wife Noela of North Carolina, and Rafael Newell of Panama; nieces, Debbie Thom of Bethlehem, Vanessa Newell of California, and Casandra Newell of Virginia; nephews, Charles Thom and his wife Michelle, and Kevin, Eric and Kyle Newell all of Bethlehem; and godchildren, Armando and Arianna Thom. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Friday, February 21st, in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 3219 Santee Road, Bethlehem. Zachary and Rachel, I was shocked and saddened to see of the passing of your Mom. She was so proud of you both. I worked at Chicos with your Mom, we had plenty of laughs. May your memories bring smiles one day and not tears. The world is a little less beautiful without her.
