Stephen Renz Obituary

Stephen John Renz, of East Norriton, passed away on January 23, 2025, at the age of 64 after a brief illness. Born May 20, 1960, to the late Thomas and Anna (nee Ziccoli) Renz, Stephen was the beloved husband of Janet Renz (nee Copestick); dear brother of Matthew (Sue) and pre-deceased brothers Michael (Liz) and James. Loving uncle of many nieces and nephews with whom he shared a close bond. Brother-in-law to William (Donna), Betsy (John), Mark (Debbie), Michael (Jordy), John and Robert. Other close family members included Lynn Corino Payne, Joanne Copestick, and Cousins Marianne, Carol, and Larry. Growing up in Warminster, Steve had many friends he spent time with traveling and going out. They had a love of old cars and would use their own money to buy classic cars and fix them up. His father owned a gas station and auto repair shop where he and his brothers worked and learned more about auto repair and restoration. Steve owned a 1965 Chevy Chevelle that over the years, with the help of friends, worked on restoring to its original state. He was a huge Trekkie and Marvel enthusiast, artist, computer nerd and wood worker. Like his father, Steve had a very analytical mind and could easily learn how to fix or make things for his home. Friends and family would call him often for advice on computers, cars, home projects, and basically anything else. He also shared a love of craft beer with many of his friends. They would do annual beer runs after Thanksgiving to purchase and share the seasonal selections. After graduating from William Tennant High School, Steve attended Bucks County Community College to study drafting and information technology. Early in his career he worked for Gary Electronics in the design and drafting department and Tyco Electronics working on printed circuit board design. In 1998 Steve met his wife Janet on a dating app. They dated for two years and were married in November of 2001. They did not have children of their own but had their fur babies Barclay and Rex. They traveled often to visit family in California, Florida, and Las Vegas. They also cruised to the Caribbean and Alaska and took trips to Cape May with friends. They recently celebrated their 23rd Wedding Anniversary. Since 2016, Steve has worked as a Digital Solutions Specialist for Compass Digital. Relatives and friends are invited to Steve's Life Celebration on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 9:30 to 11:30 AM, followed by his memorial service at 11:30 AM at the Boyd-Horrox-Givnish Life Celebration Home of East Norriton, 200 W. Germantown Pike, East Norriton, PA 19401; interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Steve's memory to a charity of their choice. I'm real sorry to hear about Steve's death. Him and Jimmy, and Matt lived next door to us in Philadelphia on Camberly Road. Steve was my best friend at that time of our lives. Those were some of the most innocent great memories of my life. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and I am so happy that Steve and Jimmy are now back together in heaven.

So sorry to learn of your passing. I worked with Steve at Culinart where he was just a phone call away with any tech issues or problems. A very nice man whom we share May 20 as our birth date. My condolences to Janet and the family. May God continue to bless you.

I´m so sorry to just be seeing this today. Obviously missing the viewing and funeral yesterday. I feel bad that I didn´t get to pay my respects to Janet and Steve´s family. Steve was a good guy who as the obituary states could fix almost anything and was a very reliable and helpful person to me in my food service career. I am sad for Janet and Steve´s family and only wish everyone well, and the strength to get through this difficult period.

Ironman will forever remain in our hearts. His love for all things Geek sparked many conversations between the two of us over the last few years. I know he was surrounded by a loving family and may they be comforted in the multitudes of happy memories they have and get to share. He is and will be missed.

Steve was a good guy. My husband is also an artist and we had some nice conversations about that. May he rest in peace and may his family be comforted.
