Terry Miller Obituary

Terry Glenn Miller, 74, of East Stroudsburg, PA, passed on January 7, 2025, at Lehigh Valley – Cedar Crest. Terry passed away fighting to live surrounded by family, as he had done so many times over the last few years. Terry will be remembered as a loving husband, father/father-in-law, stepfather, brother, son, uncle, grandfather and friend. A lifelong resident of East Stroudsburg, he grew up exploring the Poconos. He told countless stories of days fishing, hunting, golfing, sledding on back roads, even riding on car tires down the river. In his school years Terry was a proud member of the Drum and Bugle Corp and the Marching Band of East Stroudsburg High School. He continued drumming well beyond high school, specializing in classic 1970s rock covers that he performed with numerous bands over the years, most notably Country Classic and Dreamweaver. Through many years of late nights performing he formed lifelong friendships and many stories to reminisce on. Terry worked the majority of his life at East Stroudsburg University's shipping and receiving department. Prior to and after his employment at ESU, he worked at various area businesses like Drackett Incorporated and Weis Market. Terry often shared stories with his grandkids of the Drackett years and how he loved those company softball games. In addition to his music, Terry enjoyed watching sports, tinkering on projects, gardening, woodworking and spending time with his family and friends. The world knew him as Terry but to our family he was Pop. His proudest achievement in life was becoming a Pop to so many. He loved playing board and card games with his family, a tradition he would pass on to his children and grandchildren. He lived many beautiful years surrounded by love. Our Pop was a fiery soul filled with passion; he instilled a sense of purpose and fight in all of his loved ones. He rarely missed an opportunity to celebrate his children and grandchildren's accomplishments. He attended sporting events, graduations, music and dance recitals, birthdays, weddings, and so much more. His family was his life; Pop was a pillar that held us all on his shoulders. Pop would show up for his family in any situation; even if he couldn't fix it he would arrive shortly for support. He is the portrait of a family man and his loss has left an indelible mark on our hearts. Pop is remembered as always moving, building, fixing. He spent hours in his cellar and garage building furniture over the years. His passion for woodworking is seen in pieces throughout the home he loved so dearly. Terry was predeceased by his parents Glenn and Sylvia (Searle) Miller and his sister Linda (Arlington) Wolbert; Terry is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Nina; daughters Terra (Juan) Torres and Tamara (Shaun) Terwilliger; stepson Rick Hooey; stepdaughters Lora (Bob) Miller and Michelle Hooey; grandsons Dylan Miller, Brandyn (Jeff) Miller-McGrail, and Kaleb Brown; granddaughters Kayanna Verwey, Alyssa (Andrew) Raftovich, Isabella and Sophia Torres, Kylee Brown, and Hannah Jefferson; nephew and godson Mike (Sonia) Wolbert and niece Wendy Sweigart; great nephew Zack Wolbert; great nieces Emily and Sydney Wolbert; and many great grandchildren. Rather than a viewing, there will be a celebration of life at Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home on January 18th from 1-3pm. This will be a celebration with laughter and many stories to be shared. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Terry Miller's name to the National Hemophilia Foundation, without which, our beloved Pop would not have lived as long as he did. Terry Miller was larger than life; his spark is one that will truly never go out. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Terry, please visit our floral store.
