Theodore F. "Ted" Hendricks Sr.

Theodore "Ted" F. Hendricks, Sr., 93, formerly of 808 Elm St., Bethlehem died Monday, September 29, 2025 at Cedarbrook, Fountain Hill. He was the husband of Marion L. (Ettwein) Hendricks with whom he celebrated 70 years of marriage on May 21, 2025. Born in Bethlehem, he was the youngest of nine children of the late Joseph W. Hendricks, Sr. and Anna G. (Fidler) Hendricks. After attending Fountain Hill High School, Ted joined the United States Navy serving during the Korean War. When he came home from the service, he went to work at Bethlehem Steel. He worked his way up to foreman in the Boiler House, before retiring after 42 years. He was a member of Bethany United Church of Christ and the former St. John's United Methodist Church both in Bethlehem. A talented vocalist Ted was a member of both church choirs. A talented woodworker, he was always willing to help out at both churches when repairs were needed. He was also a member of the MORA Club and had participated for many years as a member of the MORA Club Chorus. He and his wife enjoyed several bus trips with the MORA Club. Ted and Marion loved to travel first with their children, then the grandchildren and then by themselves in retirement. They started with a pop-up camper, then a 5th wheel, before graduating to a motor home. They enjoyed traveling across the United States. Ted and Marion also enjoyed cruises to Hawaii and Alaska. A faithful Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan, he had season tickets for many years to watch the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs. He and Marion were regular attendees at all sports events, plays, dance recitals, band concerts and anything their children and grandchildren were participating in. Survivors: Wife; children, Debra J. Brown of Hellertown, Wendy S. Glassic and her husband John of Fountain Hill, Theodore F. Hendricks, Jr. and his wife Donna of Bear, DE, Melissa A. Tarasuk and her husband Stephen of Bethlehem; 8 grandchildren; 1 great grandson. Service: A memorial Service will be held at 1:00PM Saturday, October 18, 2025 at Bethany United Church of Christ, 600 W. Market St., Bethlehem.
