William Moffitt Obituary

William "Bill" C. Moffitt, 79, of Telford, PA, passed peacefully at home on December 18, 2024, after a valiant battle with heart disease. Bill was a devoted family man who recently celebrated his 57th wedding anniversary with the love of his life, Sue. He loved being a husband, dad and Pop Pop and always put his family first in everything he did. He leaves a huge hole in the hearts of his family and friends who were always entertained by his stories and wicked sense of humor. He truly brought life to the party. Bill was born on September 27,1945 to Durward Moffitt and Violet Mullen (Bogden) in Detroit, Michigan. He was a 1963 graduate of Liberty High School in Bethlehem, PA. Shortly after graduation, Bill joined the US military serving in both the Navy and the Army, from which he was honorably discharged at the rank of sergeant. Bill was a Greyhound driver and driver instructor for 11 years before moving into the role of Building Facilities Manager at Souderton Area Senior High School for 20 years, retiring in 2000. Outside of work and family, Bill loved to golf with his son, travel with his wife and daughter, ride motorcycles, and play with his dog, Riley. He also loved to talk to anyone, whether friend or stranger, fix things that were broken, give advice (whether asked for or not), and most importantly, love and protect his family. Bill is survived by his wife, Suzanne "Sue", his daughter Kristen, her husband Claude, son Michael, his wife Michelle, his two grandchildren Alaina & Liam, sister Linda Herpel and husband Jeff and four nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Violet Lowry. In lieu of a services, there will be a celebration of Bill's life later this Spring. Tough to see who you rooted for in the Army-Navy game, having served in both branches. Sergeant, you are now relieved from your post. A job well done fellow veteran. The final battle is now over and peace has been restored. America thanks you for your service to our country in the defense of freedom. The final volley has sounded and taps is about to sound ending a successful career as a nation“s defender. Farewell fellow veteran.
