Alice Cavallo Obituary
Alice V. (Marzucca) Cavallo, age 92, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 20, 2025, at Apple Rehabilitation. She was the devoted wife of the late John L. Cavallo.
Born on January 31, 1933, in Waterbury, Alice was the daughter of the late Domenic and Mary (Donofrio) Marzucca. She was a graduate of Croft High School and with aspirations of becoming a Catholic nun, studied religion at convent school. Devout in her faith, Alice was a longtime parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church in Watertown. An amazing cook and baker, Alice worked at Rosemary's Bakery in the 1960's and later, as a dietary and culinary chef at Taft School.
She enjoyed traveling with her family, sisters, and friends to destinations such as vineyards in upstate NY, the casino for bingo, and to the Holy Shrine in Litchfield. She was an avid reader and knitted blankets that were treasured gifts to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Kind and loving, Alice was devoted to her family and cherished holidays, celebrations, and picnics.
Alice is survived by her stepson John Cavallo and his wife Debra of Watertown; her
stepdaughter Mary Jane Kritzman of Middlebury; her step-grandchildren Grace Marie Cavallo and her wife Kristi of Watertown, Michael J. Cavallo and his wife Stacy of Watertown, and John M. Kritzman and his wife Alyssa of Middlebury. She also leaves her step-great grandchildren Michael, Mia, Makailyn, Juliana, Jaxson, and Roselina as well as several generations of nieces and nephews. Alice was predeceased by her brothers Joseph Marzucca, Edward Marzucca, Francis Marzucca, and Ralph Marzucca and her sisters Marguerite Crispino, Eleanor Crocco, and Angela Pison.
Alice's funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at 10:00am at St. John the Evangelist, Holy Disciple Parish, 574 Main St., Watertown. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at the church. There are no calling hours. Maiorano Funeral Home has been entrusted with all arrangements.
