Almyra Keller Obituary

DERBY: Almyra A. (Hubbell) Keller of Derby, born on September 29, 1920 in Hamden, a previous longtime resident of Ansonia, passed away at 104 on Monday, August 25, 2025 with her loving family by her side. Almyra was the wife of the late William "Bill" Keller, daughter of the late George and Beulah (DeAlmo) Hubbell, who both left her too early in life, and was also predeceased by her loving step-mother, Ida Dunn and her husband Frank, as well as her loving step-sister, Lucy Bertier. Almyra volunteered at Mead School in Ansonia, worked for Norma Rea in Seymour, Marshall Lane Manor in Derby, Marshalls in Ansonia, as well as being a table server for Duchess in Ansonia until her retirement at the age of 90. She loved to help people, was lovingly referred to as "Mom" or "Ma Butterfly" because of her love of butterflies. Almyra loved to garden, loved carousel horses, and was a huge Betty Boop fan. She loved summer concerts on the Derby Green, watching people from her front porch, and talking with them as they walked their dogs. Almyra leaves behind her loving family; daughters, Ellen Keller and her companion John Bixby, and Arlene Jones and her late husband Kenneth; granddaughter, Dorothy Gambaccini and her wife Valerie; great granddaughter, Everly; as well as her son and caregiver, Tom Gambaccini and his sister, Laurie Gambaccini. The family would also like to give a special thanks to her loving aid, Dorothy Kloc for her kindness, friendship, and wonderful hard work for many years, Michael P. Titta for making her hair beautiful and friendship over the years, as well as the caring staff at Hospice. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025 at 12:30pm in St. Mary (Our Lady Queen of the Apostles) Church, 212 Elizabeth St., Derby, CT 06418. Interment will follow in Trinity Cemetery, Seymour, following services. Relatives and friends are invited to greet her family Friday morning from 11am to 12pm in the Ralph E.
