Archie Byrd Obituary

Archie Byrd Jr, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend was called home April 4th, 2025. Born on May 8th, 1955, raised in Bellevue Square of Hartford, Connecticut. Archie a.k.a "Byrd Man" was a family man who liked to tell stories, crack jokes and make people laugh. He will be remembered for his sweet and charming charisma, hard work, dedication, and commitment to his work and family. Archie found great joy in fishing, traveling and spending time with his beloved wife Tracey Hicks-Byrd (predeceased). Together, they established a loving home filled with beautiful decor and cherished significant memories with their dogs Paris and Ollie. Archie attended Hartford High School. He touched many lives through his work in the Ministry. He dedicated his life to helping and serving others, including 21 years of service at the City of Hartford. He was recognized for his outstanding work ethic and contributions to the success of The City of Hartford. His passion for helping others was illustrated in all aspects of his life. Archie Byrd Jr joins his loving parents Theresa Byrd and Archie Byrd Sr in Heaven. He is survived by his 4 siblings Stephanie Byrd, Crystal Patrice Byrd of Cromwell Ct, Clifton Phillip Byrd of Massachusetts and Kimberly Byrd of Hartford Ct; 4 daughters Toya Ellis, Tiffany Watson, Tyshema Byrd-Eaddy and Tatiana Byrd-Gibson and son-in-law Alan Gibson of Hartford, Connecticut; 13 grandchildren Raven Hardy, Renita Morgan, Ricky Ellis Jr, Charles Hardy, Latoya Ellis, Roderick Eaddy Jr, Tayqaun Eaddy, Romelle Hardy, Tyshawn Eaddy, Janyi Byrd, Jevon Williams, Alon Gibson, and Ash'Lynn Gibson; his best friend Gary Rakesteau; a special friend Leah Williams; a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many more family members and friends. Archie Byrd was a beloved member of his family, and his memory will forever be cherished by those who he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love and service will continue to inspire all who knew him.
