Barbara Marie Durkin

Barbara Durkin, 65, of Wallingford, CT, unexpectedly left this Earth to be in God's Kingdom, where she is now reunited with many beloved family members. She was the daughter of the late Robert (Bob) Durkin and Margaret (Peggy) Barry and a beloved sister to Keith and Denise. Born in Meriden, CT, on October 9, 1959, Barbara was a lifelong resident of Wallingford. She was a proud graduate of Lyman Hall High School, Class of 1978, and a devoted member of the United Church of Christ in Wallingford. Barbara had a heart full of warmth and kindness, always cherishing the time she spent with family. She shared an unbreakable bond with her beloved siblings, Keith and Denise, who will forever treasure the memories of her silly jokes and childhood stories-told with such vividness, it felt as if they had happened just yesterday. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, like watching classic '70s sitcoms and reminiscing about childhood memories. More than anything, Barbara adored her nieces and nephews, never missing an opportunity to send a little message or make a quick call just to say, "I care", her favorite phrase and one that she lived by. Her kind, beautiful soul will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew her. Both of her siblings are grateful to know that she's at peace and happy to be reunited with Mom and GG. Barbara is survived by her brother, Keith Durkin (wife Jill); sister, Denise Becker (husband George); nieces, Veronica Dale (husband Scott), Jamie Durkin (fiancé Josh Fiore); nephews, Shawn Becker (wife Whitney), Mathew Durkin (wife Escence); great nieces, Madison Dale, and Keira & Mackenzie Durkin; great nephews, Cooper & Bryson Dale, Noah Durkin, Sawyer Fiore, and Boeing (Bo) Becker. Family and friends are invited to gather for a Memorial Service to honor Barbara's life which will be held at 1pm on Saturday, February 15th at B.C. Bailey Funeral Home located at 273 S.
