Barbara Grimaldi Obituary

Barbara "Bambina" (Pizzoferrato) Grimaldi, 95, of Newington, CT, wife of the late Peter A. Grimaldi, died on Saturday May 10, 2025. Born in Hartford, CT, Barbara was a graduate of Bulkeley High School, Class of 1947. She has been a resident of Newington since 1950. As a young woman, Barbara started work as a colorist for Loring Studios in Hartford and continued this work for many decades. In the 1960's & 70's she worked as a crossing guard for the Newington School System and owned the Bath Boutique in Newington. In the 1980's, she received her real estate license and worked as an agent until the age of 83. She especially loved her fellow real estate agents and enjoyed helping her younger clients find their first home. Barbara was a devoted friend to so many throughout her life. Everyone whose lives that she touched knew that they were important to her. Barbara was active in the Southend Ladies Democratic Club along with her identical twin sister Virginia Valente. The twins were inseparable, so if you knew one, you probably knew them both. Barbara was dedicated to her family and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchild. Family was always number one in her eyes and she was completely dedicated to hers. She loved singing and dancing, especially to the folk songs of Pratola Peligna, Provence of L'Aquila in the region of Abruzzo, Italy. Her parents Dante & Ida Pizzoferrato hailed from this small town in the heart of Abruzzo, where she still has many relatives. In addition to her husband, she was also predeceased by her twin sister Virginia Valente and her son-in-law Alan Percoski. She leaves behind her children, Louis Grimaldi of Unionville, Donna Lee Percoski of New Britain, Thomas & Kasey Grimaldi of Granby, her grandchildren, Alan "AJ" Percoski, Jr., Amanda Percoski, Caitlin Grimaldi, Gianna Grimaldi, a great granddaughter Kaia Grimaldi-Coscia, and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. Barbara's family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at the Hospital of Central CT and to her visiting Nurse, Sharla, for the love and care that she provided. Calling hours will be at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Road Wethersfield, CT on Thursday May 15, 2025 from 4-7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday May 16, 2025 at 10:00 am in St. Mary Catholic Church of the Parish of the Annunciation, 626 Willard Avenue, Newington, CT. Interment will follow at Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, 1 Cottage Grove Road Bloomfield, CT. Dear Donna & family, so very sorry to hear of the passing of your beloved mom. I was out of state the day of the funeral, would have wanted to attend. Remember your mom as being the epitome of a very gracious lady - so classy. May your many wonderful memories be of consolation to you during this very heartbreaking time. May she rest in peace in the Lord's arms. With deepest sympathies, Pennie DiBerardino (mom-St. Mary's School)

Donna and family,
We were so sorry to hear about your Mom´s passing. She was a beautiful person. She did sell me my first home in New Britain.
She made me laugh when I complemented her on her patent leather Mary Jane´s and she commented, "these are my Sugar shoes"
She was loved by many,
Love,
Nance and Jim Naples Fl.

My heart is broken along with the Grimaldi family. Barb was the kindest, loving, caring, giving person I have known. We as two famiies have had the best times together, too many to count. For years it was the happiest time of my life. Always what would start to be just a stop by visit,no matter our or their house, it always turned out to be a party, food drinks mostly jokes laughter oh so much fun. There were also times of tears and sorrow but always together for each other. those times spent together are now gone, but the memories are still here in our hearts.I know they who are also gone are having a great time reminising. Love you Barb,RIP
