Catherine Curti (Williams)

Catherine Williams Curti, of Rocky Hill passed away Wednesday October 1, 2025 She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Ciro Curti, with whom she shared 57 years of marriage. Catherine was born at home on July 5, 1944, in New Bethlehem, PA. She was the daughter of the late Col. Donald S. Williams and Viola Herbst Williams. Her childhood was spent in Fort Worth, TX and later in PA after her father's retirement from the Air Force. After high school, Catherine and her forever friend, Judy Phelon, boarded a train in Altoona, PA and moved to CT in 1962. She worked at Travelers Insurance Co. and later as a secretary in Rocky Hill at Griswold Junior High School and Century 21 Group 6. She was an avid genealogist who loved helping others research their families. Catherine is survived by her children Anthony Curti (Lynn) of Manchester, CT, Laura McNamara (Mickey Rivera) of East Hartford, CT and Angela Wheeler of Winsted, CT. Also surviving are her grandchildren Christina Defocy (Dennis), Stephen Curti (Angelina) , Kathleen Chokas (Nick), Kyle McNamara (Meagan), Shannon Rief (Justin), Connor and Adam Wheeler and great grandchildren Bodie Defocy, Gavin, Silas and Zagan McNamara, Autumn and Logan Chokas and Emmett Rief. She also leaves her sister Patricia Frost of San Diego, CA, her sister-in-law Judy Williams of New Bethlehem, PA, her brother-in-law Robert Hynes of Redondo Beach, CA and sister-in-law Genevieve Soovajian (Osheen) of Hartford. She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Jean Hynes, her brother Donald Williams, Jr., granddaughter Michelle Curti and son-in-law Todd Wheeler. Because of Catherine's love of genealogy, it was her wish that donations be made to the Rocky Hill Historical Society, 785 Old Main St., Rocky Hill, CT 06067. The family will receive friends and relatives Saturday October 4, 2025, 11:30 – 12:30pm at the Rose Hill Funeral Home 580 Elm St. Rocky Hill, CT 06067 with a chapel service and burial to follow.
