Ceil Hogan

Celia Cappella Hogan, formerly of Branford, passed away on Monday March 31, 2025 at her home in Southington. She was the beloved wife of the late William F. Hogan. Celia was born in New Haven on March 17, 1930, a daughter of the late Peter P. and Margaret Riccio Cappella. Celia is survived by her honored daughter Hope Chapman and her husband Steven Chapman of Southington, and her grandchildren whom she adored, Madison Elizabeth and William Hogan Chapman, and several loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Peter and Louis Cappella and her sisters, Mary Cofrancesco and Phyllis Cappetta. She worked as a secretary for Swift Adhesives and Coating and later for United Millwork and Supply in the bookkeeping department. Ceil was a member of the New Haven Country Club, the Catholic Charity League, Branford Women's Club, Branford Garden Club, the Wednesday Group, the Irish American Club, St. Mary Ladies Guild, and was also a member for 20 years with the Branford Recreation Department Bowling League. She volunteered at the Hospital of St. Raphael and at Y-Me of Branford. Ceil also enjoyed her bad golf game. Her funeral will leave the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford Thursday morning at 9:30 for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John Bosco Parish at St. Mary Church, Branford at 10:00. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery. Visiting hour prior to the funeral from 8:30 – 9:30 at the funeral home.
