Charissa Borromeo Cenabre

Charissa "Monet" Borromeo Cenabre was born on February 26, 1953, in Pamplona, Philippines, and passed away at home, surrounded by family, on January 13, 2026, after a courageous multi-year battle with cancer. In her final days, she was with loved ones in East Haven, while family and friends across the world joined her in love and prayer through scheduled virtual gatherings.

She was the beloved daughter of Adelaida and Fernando Borromeo (both predeceased), and proud sister to Melvina (predeceased), Leila, Donna, Fernando Jr., Caridad, and Hector. She was also the loving wife and partner of more than 50 years to her devoted husband, Orlando Cenabre.

Charissa embraced everything life had to offer, living with humility and deep gratitude. She loved culture, food, gatherings, trying new things, and-most of all-human connection. She will be remembered for her kindness, wisdom, strength, infectious laughter, and unwavering love for her family and friends. An authentic listener, she didn't always say what you wanted to hear, but she always told you what you needed to hear. She had a way of lighting up every room and treating her friends like family.

Charissa was an unconditionally loving mother, lola, and auntie to her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family. Her light and legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, January 24, from 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM at East Haven Memorial Funeral Home, 425 Main St., East Haven, CT 06512. A church service will be held on Tuesday, January 27, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Vincent de Paul Church.
