Charles C. Donadio

Charles ("Chuck") Donadio was taken home to the Lord on October 30, 2025. He passed away peacefully after following the plan God laid for him. Charles was born on March 27, 1933 in New Haven, CT and was the son of Dr. Charles and Ruth (Edwards) Donadio of Northford.
He was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, class of 1951 before attending Notre Dame University where he met his first wife, Constance Scheiman. He a was a member of the U.S. Army Reserve 118th Medical Battalion during the Korean War. Together with his wife, Connie, they raised their family, daughter Patricia and son Kevin in Wallingford, CT.
He retired in July 1998 from Choate Rosemary Hall where he worked in athletic department. Previously, he worked at Lomas & Nettleton and was the owner of the R&R Package Store in Wallingford, CT for 15 years. He also enjoyed helping his son at Top Notch Dry Cleaners (Wallingford) where many of his long-time friends would stop by and see him.
Charles loved music, especially jazz, and was always singing a song wherever he went. He was a member of the choir at the Church of the Resurrection for many years and was a founding member and communicant of the church. He was also a big Godfather movie fanatic and was known to quote verbatim many of the lines along with other classic movies. He enjoyed his days spent at the Wallingford Senior Center and the people he met there. He was a big Notre Dame University football fan ("Go Irish") as well as The New York Mets baseball team. We will miss his weather report every morning and his 30-day forecast.
He leaves his wife, Frances (Mastroianni), of Wallingford and his son Kevin (Joanne) of Meriden, CT. Grandfather to Jodi (Lacy) Pelloni of Massachusetts, Timothy (Samantha) Pelloni of Florida, David (Sandra) Donadio of Meriden, CT and Sarah (Jon) Gibbs of Meriden, CT. Many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Brother to JoAnn Donadio of East Haven, Mary Elizabeth Dickinson-Wotring of Spring, TX and Edward (Eileen) Donadio of Northford, CT. He was pre-deceased by his wife Constance (Scheiman) who passed away in 1987 and his daughter Patrica Donadio Pelloni in 2024.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at Church of the Resurrection, 115 Pond Hill Road, Wallingford. Friends may call at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm Street, Wallingford prior to Mass from 8:30-10:30 AM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wallingford Senior Center.
