Chester Yaworsky Obituary
Obituary of Chester E. Yaworsky, Jr.
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Chester (Chet) Yaworsky, beloved husband of Laura, who entered eternal life on September 29, at the age of 80.
Chet was born on August 9,1945, in Hartford, to the late Chester and Cecelia Yaworski. He spent 45 years as a Senior Development Engineer with Pratt & Whitney/United Technologies in East Hartford. He was awarded multiple U.S. patents for innovations in precision machining in engine component manufacturing. He also served in the National Guard for many years.
In addition to his wife, Chet leaves his sons Derek (Christine) Yaworsky and Dustin (Lauren) Yaworsky and five beloved grandchildren, Dylan (Lauren), Damon, Celia, Dane and Devin and nephew Andreas. He is also survived by his sisters Elaine (Lee) and Donna (Dennis), a niece Amy, and nephews Elliot, Christopher, and Evan. Chet was preceded in death by his son Damon and stepson Jeffrey.
Chet's happiest times were spent at the Cape. His dream of owning a little piece of Cape Cod was realized when he and Laura purchased a second home in Orleans. They loved creating memories with family and friends. The grandchildren and their friends will forever remember catching Fiddler crabs at Skaket, tubing on Pleasant Bay, riding the waves at Nauset, taking the Whaler to the Outer Beach, clamming with Baba and Nana, calling first dibs on the outside shower, and playing flashlight tag. Chet's happy place was being out on the Whaler catching Striper and Blues off Chatham. He was also a master clammer and loved nothing better than grilling littlenecks and making clam chowder and stuffies with Laura to share with family and friends.
Throughout his life, Chet's passion was cars. His natural talent for auto mechanics earned him a reputation as a Master Volkswagen and Porsche mechanic. He was a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America and enjoyed judging cars at the annual Glastonbury car show. His 911T was his pride and joy. He truly loved keeping his cars well maintained and hand washing and waxing them was a point of pride.
Chet will be remembered for his unwavering love and commitment to his son Damon. He was a role model for his sons and grandchildren. He exemplified a strong work ethic, a loving father, and loyal friend. He was always there for his family, providing help and guidance whenever needed. During their 35 years of marriage, Chet was endlessly supportive, always there for Laura, sharing life's joys and burdens with quiet strength and constant love.
