Chuc Pham Obituary

In Loving Memory of Pham Van Chuc, November 20, 1948-June 17, 2025 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, a dedicated professional and a quiet soul, whose life was marked by resilience, intellect, and unwavering dedication. Born with a brilliant mind and a quiet strength, he pursued academic excellence in New Zealand, where he earned two master's degrees in horticulture. After 7 years studying in New Zealand, his passion for knowledge and growth led him back to Vietnam in 1972, where he held a Vice President position at Can Tho's university, contributing meaningfully to his field. In 1976, driven by a longing for freedom, he attempted to escape Vietnam. Tragically, he was captured and endured four harrowing years in prison, where he suffered both physical and emotional torment. These experiences left deep scars, and he emerged a quieter, more reserved man, wary of the world around him. Thanks to the sponsorship of his devoted mother, he was able to immigrate to the United States, where he began a new chapter of his life. From a young age, he was fiercely independent, never one to burden others. He carried this spirit into his professional life, working with quiet dedication at Cracker Barrel for over 20 years. He was known for his reliability, humility, and steadfast work ethic. Though reserved, he found joy in travel, especially his visits to California to celebrate Vietnamese New Year and take in the beauty of new places. These moments brought him peace and connection to his roots. He will be remembered for his strength, his quiet dignity, and the enduring love he held for his family and heritage. His journey was not an easy one, but it was marked by courage, perseverance, and grace. He is deeply missed and forever cherished. He is survived by two sisters: his older sister, Pham Thi Ngoc, and her husband, Nguyen Xuan Phep, who have six children: and his younger sister, Pham Thi Nga, whose husband, Gunter Geiss, has passed, and she also has six children. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday,June 21, at 12 PM at St. Mary Church, 42 Spring St. Windsor Locks. Burial will be private. My condolences to the family. I didn't personally know Chuc but saw him just about every day walking. Sometimes just exchange a hello but not often. He would never take a ride from anyone. He was always content just walking. Your presence will be missed around town. RIP Chuc
