Claranne Parker Obituary

Claranne (Bryne) Parker, 97, of Farmington, widow of James L. Parker, passed away Monday (October 20, 2025) at UConn Medical Center in Farmington. Born in Manchester, daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Maguire) Bryne, she was a former Plainville resident before moving to Farmington in 1974. A graduate of Plainville High School, Class of 1945, she received her Registered Nurse Certificate from Children's Hospital Boston. Claranne worked at the Plainville VNA and later Medex Respiratory Services. She was a member of the Plainville Congregational Church; the CT Rose Society and the Litchfield Audubon Society. Surviving are: two daughters, Betsyanne Stepney of Orleans, MA; and Lachlyn Nichols in Tennessee; a son, Bryne Parker and his wife Jeanette "Nettie" of Bedford, NH; two granddaughters, Meredith Givens; Laura Barr and her husband Shannon; as well as great grandchildren. Besides her husband Jim, she was predeceased by a granddaughter, Morgan Nichols; a brother, Michael Bryne and a sister, Rosemary Smith. Private graveside services will be held at East Cemetery, Manchester, CT. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Plainville Congregational Church, 130 West Main Street, Plainville, CT 06062. The Carlson Funeral Home, New Britain is assisting with arrangements.
