Craig Henzel Obituary

Craig Henzel Sr.: A Life of Excellence, Integrity, Service & Love With profound love and deep sorrow, we honor the extraordinary life of Craig Henzel Sr.-a man who lived with passion, purpose and an unwavering commitment to family, community and excellence. His impact was immeasurable, his achievements vast, but above all, he was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and mentor whose presence made the world a better place. A proud Navy veteran, Craig carried his discipline and leadership into a distinguished career as an award-winning National & Regional Director for Cadillac's Corporate Division, where he earned the highest respect for his vision, dedication & integrity. His athleticism was legendary. A Junior Davis Cup tennis champion with more than 100 tournament victories, minor league ice hockey player for the Detroit Red Wings, National Ski Patrol member & instructor in Sugarloaf, Maine, lifeguard & swim instructor, volunteer Little League coach, avid golfer, skilled fly fisherman -he excelled at every sport & endeavor he pursued with relentless drive & enthusiasm. Beyond sports, Craig's talents and passions knew no bounds. After graduating from Trinity-Pawling & Hamilton College, he became a master gardener, bridge player, classically trained pianist, agile dancer, woodworker, furniture reupholsterer, dedicated community leader & a man who found both lifelong adventure & renewal in the great outdoors. He was also invited to join the Farmington Valley Rotarians, a testament to his spirit of service, integrity & leadership. Yet, as impressive as his accomplishments were, Craig's greatest pride and joy were his family. He was an unwaveringly devoted husband to Belle Henzel and a loving, supportive father to Tracy, Maureen & Craig Jr. His integrity, humility & deep sense of responsibility defined him far more than any accolade. He led by example, instilling in those around him a passionate lifelong love for learning & education, a commitment to honesty & the courage to remain steadfast in one's beliefs. A voracious reader and intellectual, he never shied away from a challenge-whether it was engaging in extensive political discussions, helping those in need or completing the New York Times crossword. Dad never missed a field hockey, basketball, tennis, swim event or theater production & joined Belle as their children's most loyal & enthusiastic supporters. His sharp wit, boundless generosity, sacrifice & profound wisdom will forever be cherished. Craig Henzel Sr. lived fully, loved deeply & left an enduring legacy. Though he is no longer with us, his pioneering spirit, lessons and love will guide us always. At nearly 89 years old, we were so blessed to have you as our Dad. We will miss you & love you forever. Thank you for everything Dad.. Please give *Mom our love

Joseph Alessandro

February 7, 2025

My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. I knew your mother through her work for the answering service and your father through my medical office. I enjoyed talking to both of them. They were both such wonderful human beings and the world is a better place because of them.
Sincerely,
Dr. Joseph Alessandro
