Craig Whitehead Obituary

Craig Kenneth Whitehead, 61, of Vernon, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, in East Hartford. Craig was born in Hartford, CT, on December 17, 1963, son of the late Henry Hollis and Bobby Ann Whitehead. He grew up in South Windsor and graduated from South Windsor High School with the Class of 1981. Craig lived in Manchester and Vernon for many years. He served our country with the U.S. Army from 1981-1984. He worked for Hobbytyme in East Hartford. Craig was a sports fan, his favorite teams were the NY Yankees and San Francisco 49ers, as well as golfing when he had time. He leaves his brother, Julius Whitehead of Middletown, his stepfather, Donald Brazeau and his wife Elnora of South Windsor and many other family members and friends. His family will receive friends for calling hours on Thursday, September 4, 2025, from 5-8pm at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor. A graveside service with Military Honors will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025, 1pm meeting directly at the Connecticut State Veteran's Cemetery, Bow Lane in Middletown.
