Dennis F. Gionet

Dennis F. Gionet, 76, loving husband of Gail (Boothroyd) Gionet for over 49 years, of Northford, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025 at the Grimes Center in New Haven following a long battle with Glioblastoma. He was born in New Britain on July 6, 1949, to the late Joseph and Sophie (Kowalczyk) Gionet. Dennis attended Central Connecticut State University and graduated with his Bachelor's Degree in History. He went on to work as an underwriter for several insurance companies until his retirement in 2014. He enjoyed watching sports, especially UCONN women's and men's basketball, NY Yankees baseball and NY Giants football; he also enjoyed reading, traveling and cruising, but above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, enjoying the simple things such as going out for breakfast together. In addition to his beloved wife, Dennis is survived by his children, Thomas Gionet of Niantic, Laurel Gionet and her husband, Keith Mikolinski of Hebron and Elizabeth Gionet and her husband, Jimmy Waldron of Orlando, FL; his brother, Gary Gionet, and his wife, Maria of Southington; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at 10:00am, family and friends are asked to meet directly at Church of the Resurrection, 115 Pond Hill Road, Wallingford. Interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain will be held privately. Arrangements are under the direction of The Wallingford Funeral Home.
