Dianna Hammond Obituary

Dianna L. Hammond, 76, of Windsor Locks, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on
October 31, 2025, at The Suffield House in Suffield, CT. Born on April 3, 1949, she was
the daughter of the late Ralph G. Hammond and Louise (Wurdig) Hammond. She was
predeceased by her sister Sharon Novak, her brother Stephen Hammond, and his wife
Mary (Burns), and former brother-in-law Michael Genzano III. She also was
predeceased by nephew Todd M. Hunt and nieces Lisa Gregory Sanger and Alana
Kaufmann. She is survived by her sister Deborah Genzano, her brother Jeffrey
Hammond (Donna), nieces Kimberly (Hunt) Fugedi (Bobby), Christie Genzano and
Dawn Hammond. She leaves nephews Bryan Hunt (Laura), Jason Hunt, Michael
Genzano IV and Christopher Hammond (Madison). She has many great nieces and
great nephews but made her home with Isabella Genzano, and she brought Dianna so
much joy.
Dianna was a talented seamstress and crafter. She loved camping with her best buddy,
her mom, at Sun Valley Beach Club for years. She also had a love for the ocean and
being on the beach. She loved gardening; it was therapy for her soul. She worked for
many years at Terry Steam Turbine in Windsor, CT from just out of high school until they
closed their doors for good. She then went on to finish her career at Northern Nurseries
(A Robert Baker Co). She was the office manager until her retirement.
She was passionate about making Christmas a special time for everyone in her family.
She was always full of surprises and generous, making sure all would have the best
Christmas. She could disguise presents so you would never figure out what was inside.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the caring staff at The Suffield
House for their exceptional care and kindness, not just during her final days, but for the
entirety of her year and one half stay. Special thanks to John, Lulu & Olga for their love
of Dianna.
Friends and family members are invited for visitation at Windsor Locks Funeral Home,
441 Spring St., Windsor Locks, CT on Wednesday November 5 th between 10:00 a.m. to
