Edward R. Giesbrandt Sr.

Edward R. Giesbrandt, Sr., 76, of Middlefield, CT and beloved husband of the late Evelyn M. Giesbrandt passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 21, 2025. Born in Middletown, CT on June 4, 1949, he was the son of Myrtle Way. Ed grew up in Middlefield prior to living in Meriden for many years. Edward was employed by Atlas Aero Corporation for many years prior to retiring. He was a veteran stationed in Germany during the Vietnam era, having served with the U.S. Army. Edward, affectionately known as Ed, was an avid coin collector who delighted in scenic drives to Guilford. He cherished spending time with his family, particularly his grandchildren. Edward led a simple life, embracing its everyday joys-such as his fond memories of Lake Beseck and reminiscences of the family's Way Farm in Middlefield from his childhood. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Pelletier and her husband, Ron of Berlin; his son, Ed Giesbrandt Jr., and his wife Stacey of Berlin; his grandchildren, Amber and Kailee Giesbrandt and Nolan and Darren Pelletier; his sisters, Carol Piro of Middletown, Joan Bulley and her husband Jack of Rockfall. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. His family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, September 26th from 9 to 11 a.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home 88 E. Main St., Meriden, CT 06450. A service will commence at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow in Middlefield Cemetery.
