Elba Lopez

Elba Lopez, 81, former wife of Pedro Guzman, passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Apple Rehab Coccomo, after a long illness. Born in Aguada, Puerto Rico, on March 17, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Bernardo Lopez and Sixta Mercado. She resided in Meriden and graduated from Arcenio Martinez High School in Aguada, Puerto Rico. Elba was employed by Walbro Automotive before retiring in 1993. She was a woman of faith and a member of Meriden Seventh Day Adventist Church. She loved gardening and was an avid seamstress. Elba is survived by her daughter, Cindy Guzman Ming and her husband Calvin, her son, Hector Ivan Ramos Jr. and his wife Ramona; her four grandchildren, Hector Jonathan Ramos, Nicole Alexandra Ramos, Carina Ruth Ming and Cameron Austin Andre Ming and her great grandson Adrian Ramos. She is also survived by her brother, Samuel Lopez, her brother-in-law, Angel Ferrer and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her five sisters and brothers-in-laws, Carmen Vazquez and her husband Domingo, Micaela Llorente and her husband, Jose, Maria Teresa Ferrer and her husband Angel, Rosin Cardona and Bernarda Vazquez and her husband Freddy. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 3p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, CT 06450.
