Elinor "Ellie" Pedalino

Elinor "Ellie" Caruso Pedalino, 89, of North Haven passed away peacefully on Monday, November 3, 2025, at her home with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of 67 years to Carmen J. Pedalino. Ellie was born on April 14th, 1936, and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lucy Cafro Caruso. She earned an associate degree from the University of Hartford (formerly Hillyer College) in West Hartford where she was born and raised. She moved to North Haven with Carmen in 1959 where she resided until her death. Ellie was the Executive Secretary for three former North Haven Police Chiefs and later served the Town of North Haven as the elected Town Clerk & Tax Collector for fourteen terms until her retirement. She loved serving the people of the Town of North Haven almost as much as she loved her family. She dedicated herself wholeheartedly to whatever commitment was before her. She was an active member of the North Haven School Parent Teachers Association, the St. Barnabas Women's Club, both the State of Connecticut Tax Collector and Town Clerk Associations, and the North Haven Republican Town Committee serving as Chairwoman for a period of time. Ellie enjoyed Politics very much and was a friend to many of all political affiliations. Mostly she loved family, especially her grandchildren, and loved them all unconditionally. Mother of Carmen S. Pedalino (Laura) and Mary Lou Payette (Mark). Grandmother of Michael Pedalino (Jessica), Brian Pedalino (Rachel), Joseph "J.J." Payette (Linda) and Daniel Pedalino (Kristin). Great-Grandmother of Sophia, Jackson, Luca and Colton Pedalino. She is also survived by several dear nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother Justin Caruso, sister Minnie Fahey, sister-in-law Mary Angelo and brother-in-law Salvatore Pedalino. The visiting hours will be Sunday, Nov. 9 th from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Church of the Resurrection/St. Benedict of Nursia Parish, Wallingford on Monday morning, Nov. 10th at 11:00. Entombment will follow in the All Saints Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA.)
