Isabelle Pomarico

Isabelle Pomarico, of Hamden passed away peacefully in her home on July 16, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Louis Pomarico. Born in New Haven on February 20, 1932, daughter of the late Nicholas and Carmela Daniele, Isabelle was a graduate of Boardman Trade School. She was a most talented seamstress working for Molene's in New Haven for many years crafting beautiful clothing, even making wedding dresses for her daughters. Isabelle was a phenomenal baker, known especially for the dozens and dozens of cookies she made for holidays and special occasions. She is the devoted mother of Susan Pomarico (Eric Peterson), Vanessa Pomarico-Denino (David), Karen Pomarico and Lizabeth Glick. Sister of the late Elizabeth Laccone. Known to many as "Nonnie," she was especially proud of her grandchildren Demi Goldfuss (Michael) and Alana Pomarico and great grandchildren MJ and Serena Goldfuss and Zoë Davis. She is also survived by many friends who she considered family especially Rose Heron and Sean Marshall. Isabelle's family would like to thank her care providers especially Dr. Georgia Kelley, Dr. Jonathan Brier and Dr. Tamar Ghaly. Visiting hours will be held Friday morning from 8:00-9:30 in the Iovanne Funeral Home, Inc. 11 Wooster Place in New Haven. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Blessed Michael McGivney Parish at St. Michael Church at 10:00. Burial will be private. Isabelle requested those in attendance for her services wear the yellow or any bright colored clothing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
