Janet Flannigan Obituary

Janet Flannigan, 90, of Middletown, wife of the late James Flannigan, passed away on Monday September 29, 2025. She was born in Middletown, daughter of the late Charles and Philomena (Dascanio) Scanlon. Prior to her retirement, Janet worked at Connecticut Valley Hospital as a psychiatric aide. Janet is survived by her daughters Charlene (David) Valentine of Arroyo Grande CA, Pamela (George) Daniels of Groton CT, and sister Patricia Violette of Middletown, CT. Her granddaughters Nicolette (Matthew) Andolfo, Cara (Daniel) Brooks and Morgan (Peter) Kelley. Her beloved great grandchildren Elyse, Donnan, Ada, Rayna, Ryan and Lucy. Also dear life long high school friends, nephew Eugene and his daughter Elizabeth. She was predeceased by her sister Shirley Cerrone. Janet lived her whole life in Middletown, CT. To Janet, family was everything and she honored that commitment throughout her life. She recently moved to Masonicare of Mystic to be closer to her daughter. The family would like to thank the staff at Fairview Nursing Home, where she spent the last 4 days of her life and Masonicare Hospice of Norwich, CT. The Mass for the Celebration of Life will be held on Monday October 6 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Pius X Church, 310 Westfield St. Middletown. Burial will be privately held at the State Veterans' Cemetery.
