John P. Oleski Jr.

John P. Oleski, Jr., 69, of Newington, died on Tuesday, October 7, 2025. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late John "Charlie" Oleski, Sr. and Marion (McAuliffe) Oleski and was a lifelong Newington resident. John graduated from Newington High School and CCSU with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He retired from the Department of Defense, Audit Department and was a die-hard New York Yankee fan. His survivors include his daughter Amber Oleski and grandchildren Joseph, Jasyn and Liliana Kaponis; his sister and brother-in-law Denise and Thomas Pell; niece Alexandra Pell; many cousins, including Sharon Nicholson and her son Nick, Chris and Tomasina Gingras, and Jimmy McAuliffe; and his devoted dog and best friend Buddy. He will be laid to rest privately in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington. "It has been estimated that there are 1.5 billion fathers in this world and this one is mine. Your eternal love shines bright, and I would choose you in every lifetime. Rest in peace, Daddy until we meet again."
