Johnnie Waters Obituary

Mr. Johnnie Earl Waters 80, received his wings on September 24, 2025 in Hamden, Ct. He was born on December 12,1945 in Kingston, North Carolina to the late Jacob Waters and Celle Graham Waters. Mr. Johnnie was a long-time resident of Hamden, Ct. He received his education in the North Carolina School system; He was employed by Winchester Armory and Consolidated Laundry upon retiring. He loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Immanuel Missionary Baptist Church as a Deacon and Minister, he also attended Little Rock Church as well. Mr. Johnnie singed on the choir and served on the usher board; he loved listening to his favorite music such as Gospel Travelers, Mississippi Mass choir and the Five Blind Boys, his favorite tv shows were Cisco Kid and Chuck Conners. Mr. Johnnie was a quiet laid-back man who had a sense of humor that made him known as a jokester, his favorite dish was neckbones and rice and he always would top that off with his sweet tooth of loving his candy turtles and those good ole chocolate yoo-hoos. He loved All his grandchildren. He is survived by his three children Ronald Waters(Myra BentonWaters) of Hamden, Ct. Johnnie Waters Jr. of New Haven, Ct daughter Tonia Waters of New Haven, Ct. 10 grandchildren Lashonda Boston, Ashley, Alexander, Tiana Waters, Dorothy, Cornelius Gray, Caldonia Penn, Markis, David Jr., Davina, Djuane Waters all of New Haven. 10 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his loving wife of 50 years Caldonia GrahamWaters, his son David Water Sr. and 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
