Jonisha Sinclair Obituary
Jonisha Ann Sinclair, 43, of Bloomfield, CT, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on January 16, 1982, in Hartford, CT, to Willadeana Dixon and Jonas Sutton, Sr. Jonisha was a radiant presence from the very beginning. Raised in Hartford, she graduated from Bulkeley High School in 2001, where she was a proud and spirited cheerleader. Her academic excellence earned her a full four-year scholarship to Howard University in Washington, D.C., where she graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. Her pursuit of knowledge continued with a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Connecticut, class of 2010.
A devoted and compassionate licensed clinical social worker, Jonisha dedicated her career to the profession. She was employed at Department of Children and Families, where she served with grace, empathy, and unwavering commitment for 8 years. She took pride in her private practice, Dixon Crane, LLC where she practiced psychotherapy for the past 2 years. A lifelong learner and visionary, Jonisha embraced new endeavors with curiosity and courage. Jonisha was also real estate agent and published author of Solid Cents, and Quick Cooking with Crane; 7 Day Vegan Challenge. Her professional life was a reflection of her personal values-integrity, competence, and a deep respect for the dignity and worth of every individual. Jonisha's gentle voice carried great strength, and she became a powerful advocate for countless individuals and families throughout her life.
Known to many as "Joni," she was not only admired for her outer beauty but cherished for her kind spirit, creative soul, and infectious sense of humor. Jonisha was a devoted Christian and always professed her love for God. Jonisha immersed herself in the word of God, studying scripture, and proclaiming her faith in everything that she did. She found joy in dancing, laughing, and listening to her favorite artist, Aaliyah-who, serendipitously, shared her birthday.
Jonisha leaves behind her son, Jordan King, 16 (Robert King) and daughter, Taylor King, 14 (Robert King). She also leaves behind her beloved husband of eight years, Shane Sinclair, and their two children: Solomon Sinclair (6), and Samara Sinclair (5). Her children were the light of her life, and she poured her love, energy, and wisdom into every moment with them. Being their mother was her greatest pride and joy.
Jonisha held a deep love for her family. She is survived by her grandmother, Vivian Frazier; her parents, Willadeana Dixon and Jonas Sutton, Sr.; her siblings: Jonas Sutton Jr., Kimberly Sutton, Krystle Sutton, Christopher Stevens, Peter Stevens, Paul Stevens, Matthew Dixon, Joshua Dixon; and sister, Victoria Dixon. She is also survived by her "fairy godparents" Michael and Lynda Williams, as she affectionately named them. She is survived by Dena Wood, also known as Jordan and Taylor's "grammy." She was also a beloved cousin, aunt, and niece. She was predeceased by her great-grandmother, Mamie Page, whose legacy of strength and resilience lived on in her.
Jonisha was a guiding light in her family, especially with her siblings-always nurturing, always protective, and always reinforcing the importance of family and unity.
Jonisha's life was a testament to love, perseverance, and purpose. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched and in the hearts of her family, friends, colleagues, and the countless individuals she uplifted through her work and words. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
