Josue Gonzalez Obituary

Josue Joey Gonzalez Jr. was born on November 16th, 1981, in Providence, Rhode Island. He was a son, brother, cousin, nephew, grandson, uncle, father, grandfather, friend, mentor, and a ladies' man. Today, we gather with heavy hearts, bound by love and loss, to remember a man who wore many titles and wore them all with grace. My brother was a quiet strength in our lives, a steady presence whose absence now feels like the loudest silence. He had a way of making people feel seen, heard, and loved, whether it was through a shared joke, a helping hand, or simply sitting with you in your hardest moments. As a father, he gave his children not only love but wisdom. He taught by example-showing what it meant to work hard, to keep your word, and to show up, even when life made it hard. His children carry his spirit forward, with his kindness in their hearts and his resilience in their bones. As a son, he brought pride and joy to our parents, even in moments of struggle. He was loyal, loving, and grateful, always honoring the roots from which he came. As an uncle, he was the fun one-the one with the stories, the laughter, the advice that hit deep because it came from experience. He had a way of turning ordinary days into cherished memories. And as a grandfather, his gentleness only deepened. The love he had for his grandchild was bright and pure, and though his time with him was far too short, the impact he had will last a lifetime. He had a sense of humor that would turn a bad day into the best day ever. A laugh that would shake the room and a smile that would light up the night skies. Joking around was his way of helping others escape their day-to-day problems. His hunger for art was inspirational. From his drawings, to his tattoos, to his music, to his cooking, he touched the hearts of all who had the honor of witnessing his creativity. His artwork expressed the mind of a man who had seen it all. His tattoos were embedded on all who loved him. His music outlined the life of a man in America, and his food was filled with the taste of all the great memories he made along the way. His heart was bigger than the body it beat in. His love made you believe in a better world. His presence was filled with life. There was no dull moment when he was around, just memories that would last a lifetime. His work ethic was ou tstanding and honorable. Not only would he save his money, but he also saved the future of those who were lost until meeting him in a workplace. Family was his . All and everything he did was for his family, and everyone who crossed paths with him became part of his ever-growing family. He went out of his way to contact and maintain communication with his family and friends. He left us too soon, and yet, he left so much behind-memories, lessons, love that will never fade. We miss him every day, and we always will. But we carry him with us, in our stories, in our laughter, in the way we love each other more fiercely because of him. Whether you knew Joey, Crac, Criz, Sway, or any of the many names he went by, you were blessed with the privilege of interacting with one of the greatest souls to ever exist. Joey was loved by so many people from all over the country. He was the best! He will be missed and remembered forever! Rest well, dear brother. You are so loved, and you will live on through us all! Long Live Sway.
