Kathryn Harrison

Kathryn Harrison, 85, of Newington, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025. Born to the late Edward Higgins and Maureen (Hutchinson) Higgins, Kathryn was a lifelong resident of Newington and a devoted member of her community. For many years, Kathryn worked at Newington Highschool as a hall monitor, where her warm presence, kindness, and welcoming smile touched all who knew her. She selflessly dedicated her time as a volunteer with the VFW Auxiliary and at both the Newington and Rocky Hill VA hospitals, offering care and comfort to veterans and their families. Her compassion and unwavering support of those who served was one of her life's greatest callings. Kathryn was predeceased by her beloved husband, Alfred W. Harrison, with whom she shared many cherished years. She is survived by her son, Charles Fisher, and her grandson, James Fisher, who brought joy and pride to her life. Kathryn will be remembered for her generosity, dedication to others, and deep love for her family and community. A private burial will take place at West Meadow Cemetery, where Kathryn will be laid to rest beside her husband.
