Kathryn "Kathy" Long

Kathryn "Kathy" E. Long, 68 years young, beloved daughter of the late Edward D. Long and Sara "Becca" M. (MacLauchlan) Long, passed away peacefully at home, on Sunday, October 19, 2025, surrounded by those who loved her. Kathy was born on May 23, 1957, in Machias, Maine and had been a resident of South Windsor and Vernon for over 47 years. She was a graduate of South Windsor High School, Class of 1957 and later earned her degree from the former Bay Path Junior College in Longmeadow, Massachusetts. Kathy was employed in the commercial real estate industry, having been employed with Aetna for 20 years and more recently with UBS for over 24 years. She enjoyed gardening, shopping for the greatest bargains and especially dinning out with her family and dear friends. Her kind, loving and giving spirit will be truly missed by all that knew her. Kathy leaves to cherish her memory, her two cousins, Hobart "Hobie" MacLauchlan and his spouse, Frankie of Rock Hill, SC, and Jo Ann Hanscom of Bowdoin, ME, all their families and her dear friends: Cathy and Robert Klybas, Laurie Girardin and Donny Wittle and Lynn and Gary Nault. In addition to her parents, Kathy was predeceased by her cousin, Carl Hanscom. All are welcome to join her family at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor, CT 06074, on Monday, October 27, 2025, for a calling hour from 10:00-11:00 am with a Prayer Service at 11:00 am at the funeral home.
