Kay Jeong Obituary

Kay Jeong, 93, of Rocky Hill, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 31, 2025. Born on February 5, 1932, in Guangzhou (Canton) China, Kay arrived in California in 1950 where she started her family, moving across the country and eventually settling in Connecticut in 1957. It was in the South End of Hartford, that she started her own laundry/dry cleaning business named "China Star" which became famous locally for her hand-ironed shirts! She eventually closed her business and retired to continue raising her family. Kay devoted many years watching her children and grandchildren grow. Her favorite hobbies included spending countless hours in her garden while squeezing in time for her daily game shows. Outside of home, she enjoyed going on cruises and occasionally to the casino where she dreamt of hitting the big one like all of us. She was predeceased by her husband, Eddie Jeong and son Thomas Jeong. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She leaves behind her children George (Anita) Jeong of Glastonbury, David (Julie) Jeong of Mesa AZ, Nora (Richard) Pandolfo of Rocky Hill, Robert (Lisa) Jeong of Rocky Hill, James Jeong and his partner Jeff Weaver of Los Angeles CA, and grandchildren, Dennis (Lily) Jeong, Kelly (Daniel) Walker and William Jeong, and great-grandchildren Christian Jeong and Riley Walker, who both brought her joy in her last weeks. Funeral service and burial were held privately for the family. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Kay, please visit our floral store.
