Kerwin Romero

Kerwin Romero, 42, of New Haven, CT died suddenly in New Haven on Tuesday, November 25, 2025. Kerwin was born in New Haven on October 20, 1983, a son of Ruben Armando Romero of Camden, NJ and Dalia Enid (González) Meléndez of Port Charlotte, FL and was a life long city resident. He was currently employed at Town Fair Tires of East Haven.

Kerwin was a beautiful soul. He was a devoted father, son, brother and friend. He was always full of life. He loved his family. He cared wholeheartedly, and he enjoyed laughing. His laugh will echo forever in our hearts. Gone too son but never forgotten. May you find peace knowing that no matter what, we all loved you deeply.

In addition to his parents, Kerwin is survived by his step-father José González of Port Charlotte, a daughter, Lesley Enid Romero of West Haven, a son Kerwin Romero, Jr. of New Haven, five sisters, Tyisha (Akinei Burruss) Romero of New Haven, Dalia Maria (Raquel) Santiago of Waterbury, Isamar González of New York City, Ashely Liciaga of Concord, AR and Sonia Elizabeth González of Port Charlotte, two brothers, Carlos Ivan Santiago of New Haven and Ricardo Romero of Camden, his paternal grandmother Favorita López Lugo, his grandson Tray'vion Zaire Evans, and his former wife Vanessa Meléndez, all of New Haven, and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother Aleja Meléndez Rodríguez.

Kerwin's family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, December 5th from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, 769 Ella T. Grasso Blvd., New Haven. washingtonemorialfh.com
