On July 12, 2025, the spirit of Kevin Wayne Stuck (born 11.5.1956) was carried to family and friends waiting for him in heaven. Kevin was the second of the four sons of Albert and Gloria Stuck. Frank, wife Julie, is the oldest, after Kevin was Randy who predeceased Kevin in May of 2025. His wife Lauren continues to be a constant blessing to the family. The youngest son is Terry who lives with his wife Karen in West Virginia. Kevin had many joys in his life growing up in the small town of Beech Bottom, West Virginia, traveling with work throughout Texas and the Western and Midwestern United States to finally follow his love to Connecticut.
Family was always most important to Kevin. His wife of 41 years, Janet Millerick Stuck was his best friend. They raised 3 children, Jeremy David Stuck, Margaret (Molly)Kent Stuck and Bethany Kent Stuck married to Nicholas Hanson. He was also blessed with 3 grandchildren, Tessa Stuck, Silas Marshall and Sonja Marshall.
Spending time with family made him very happy, especially if it incorporated his passion for music. Kevin liked nothing better than singing cover songs and his originals while playing his guitar in the backyard. Kevin played and sang with several bands over the years and had a hard time resisting opportunities for Karaoke.
Altruism was a character trait modeled by Kevin's family and he embraced it in his daily life. Kevin was always motivated to participate in meaningful community activities. He was a volunteer firefighter while living in Beech Bottom, raised funds by performing for the Special Olympics and was honored in 1995 to be one of the choir members in the1000-voice choir at the opening ceremony of the Special Olympics World Games in New Haven. The Stucks are a football family. Every Sunday we gather to watch the Steelers during the championship years and the building years. This love of football allowed Kevin to give back to his community in another way. He coached Pee Wee Football for several years, teaching his players about respect, fairness, and grit while teaching them how to play football. He was able to bring his team to the town championship more than once.
This community focus led Kevin to become an active member of the freemasons, and several related organizations. Most recently he was a member of the Valley Lodge #36 A.F.& A.M. in Simsbury. Over the years as a Mason, he held the position of master of the lodge twice, helping guide decisions for community support.
Kevin was congenial and enjoyed socializing with people and had a great sense of humor. He loved telling jokes, particularly "dad" jokes and was good at it. People in the community, family and even strangers took pleasure in his ability to make them laugh. So, the next time you hear a good joke think of Kevin and laugh with him.
A celebration of Kevin's life will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at the North Granby Congregational Church, North Campus, 219 N. Granby Road. Granby, CT 06035.
