Laraine Mary Sasso

Laraine Mary Sasso, 71, of North Haven, passed away peacefully July 20, 2025 at her home with her family by her side.
Laraine was born in Meriden on November 27, 1953, a daughter of the late Albert and Irene (Mezei) Sasso.
Laraine was a graduate of Boston College and then earned two master's degrees from UConn and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Hartford. Laraine worked at the Hospital for Special Care, and later as a speech-language pathologist in the Cromwell public school system, where she was loved and admired by her coworkers for her dedication, optimism, and love for her family. She earned her place as an advocate and mentor for student and teacher alike, renowned for her tenacity just as much as her humor. Laraine was a beloved member of her community, cherished by all who knew her, and she will be dearly missed.
Laraine is survived by her son, Michael Milazzo of North Haven; her sister, Barbara LaPaglia of Wallingford; her brother, Robert Sasso and his wife, Kathy, of Sunset Beach, NC; her nieces and nephews: Lauren LaPaglia and her husband, Scott Romano; Stephen LaPaglia and his wife, Erica DaSilva; Kelly Orsino and her husband, Paul Orsino; Katie Sasso and her husband, Mike Hermanowski; and their wonderful families.
Laraine's family will receive relatives and friends at The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext. on Monday, July 28, 2025 from 9 am until 10:30 am. Her funeral cortege will then proceed to the Church of the Resurrection in Wallingford where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory can be made to the Meriden Humane Society, 311 Murdock Ave, Meriden, CT 06450.
