Lucy Pelosi Obituary

Mrs. Lucia "Lucy" (Natale) Pelosi, age 95, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 7, 2025, nine days short of her 96th birthday at her home. She was the devoted wife of the late Alphonse A. "Al" "Foo" Pelosi. The daughter of Italian immigrants, Gabriele and Palmina (De Santis) Natale, Lucy was born on June 16, 1929 in Waterbury. Part of the "The Greatest Generation," Lucy survived the Great Depression, World War II, and the Flood of 1955. Upon graduating from Wilby High School, she was employed at The Bond Radio Company in Waterbury where she worked as a bookkeeper for many years. She later worked as a personal secretary for Catholic Bishop Peter A. Rosazza and Bishop Paul S. Loverde. Extremely devout in her faith and proud of her heritage, Lucy was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. She was an avid reader and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Above all, Lucy was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and her family was her life. She shared 56 years of love with her husband, Al, and always looked forward to their "date nights" every Saturday night. Lucy is survived by her sons Inspector Gary Pelosi and his wife Iris of Watertown and The Honorable Chris Pelosi of Berlin. She also leaves her cherished grandchildren Breanna Pelosi of Prospect and Logan Pelosi of Berlin as well as her step-grandchildren Sabrina Raspo, Brad Berenguer, and Leah Johnson, many nieces and nephews and her close friend Terry Muccino. She was predeceased by her siblings Augustine "Augie" Natale, James Natale, Anne Piccochi, Carmella Clemente, and Jennie Pica and her daughter-in-law Kate Boucher Pelosi. Lucy's family would like to thank her caregivers Christine, Theresa, and Steve for their care and compassion shown to Lucy. Lucy's funeral will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 9:00am from Maiorano Funeral Home, 95 Willow St., Waterbury to The Basilica of the Immaculate Conception for a Mass at 10:00am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Friday evening from 5:00 – 8:00pm at the funeral home.
