In Loving Memory of Luz Nereida Roman With deep sorrow, but also with gratitude for her life, we announce the passing of Luz Nereida Roman, who departed peacefully on September 27, 2025, at the age of 77. Luz was born January 20, 1948 in Arecibo, PR a daughter to the late Cristobal Rivera and Herminia Martinez. She is survived by her loving daughter, Mayra Figueroa; five devoted sons, Javier Roman, Nelson Roman, Hamie Roman, Rolando Roman, and Otilio Roman; her brother, Carlos Rivera; as well as 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren - all of whom were a tremendous source of pride, joy, and love in her life. Luz was a strong and independent woman, unwavering in the face of life's many challenges. Cheerful and full of energy, she found happiness in life's simple pleasures and brought light to those around her with her sincere smile and vibrant spirit. Her heart was generous and open - always ready to help, to care, and to give without ever expecting anything in return. One of her special joys was her collection of stuffed animals, which she cherished deeply. These soft companions were a reflection of her own gentle soul - full of warmth, tenderness, and childlike wonder. Luz leaves behind a legacy of strength, compassion, and unwavering love. Her family and friends will remember her as a woman who led with her heart, who laughed freely, and who taught others, through her actions, what it truly means to be devoted and selfless. Though she may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in every life she touched. Her memory will forever be cherished in our hearts. Rest in peace, Luz.
