Maida Robarge Obituary

Maida "Maidie" Hooper Robarge, 78, of Hamden passed away peacefully on Monday, October 13, 2025, at her home. She was born in Concord, Massachusetts on August 29, 1947, and was the daughter of the late Dr. Raymond and Bernice Clark Hooper. Maidie worked as a teachers aid at Ace's School in Hamden for many years. She loved the outdoors, everything to do with nature, going on long bike rides, and of course her cats, which were a big part of her life. Maidie enjoyed family vacations, especially trips to Block Island. She will be remembered for her vibrant and fun-loving personality and her endless love for her family; they were her world. Maidie had an incredibly strong devotion to God and was also a devoted mother and best friend to her daughters, leaving them with endless stories of the great times and funny moments they shared together. Loving mother of Kelly Suttenberg and her husband Michael and Rebecca Priore and her husband Philip. Beloved grandmother of Madilyn Rose and Ella Marie Suttenberg, Michael Edward and Kaya Evangeline Priore. Sister of Clark Hooper and his wife Martha and the late Edmund Hooper. She is also survived by her companion Jack Callahan and her former husband Edward Robarge. Private funeral arrangements will be held in Massachusetts at a later date.
