Margaret (Acker) Obituary

Margaret Helen Acker-Blardo passed away peacefully on August 29, 2025. Born in Hartford, CT on November 29, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Allan and Shirley Acker. Margaret was kind and generous to everyone, and she was fiercely devoted to her family, especially to her husband Jesse and her three sons, Timothy, Benjamin, and Peter. She always loved hosting family gatherings and the holidays, and she was most happy when everyone could share these times together. Margaret also had many interests, including cooking and baking, gardening, enjoying music and attending concerts, golf, rooting for her favorite New England sports teams (Go Red Sox and Patriots!), and traveling with Jesse. She was always available for a call – long or short, and she was attentive and thoughtful. Margaret is survived by her beloved husband of 28 years, Jesse Blardo, her sons Tim (Meaghan), Ben (Leanna), and Pete Fox, her three stepchildren Thomas, Mary-Beth, and Jason Blardo, her six siblings, Christine Neligon, Michael Acker, Elizabeth Bolanger, Thomas Acker, Andrew Acker, and Matthew Acker, and her many nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you donate to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Jesse, I am so very sorry to hear this, Margaret was such a special person, so kind and welcoming. A true friend from the first moment I met her. I'm heartbroken for you and your family

I have so many fond memories of Margaret. Every Christmas Eve all the cousins got together at Nanny Acker´s house on Hugh Street in West Hartford. After Nanny passed, we gathered at Margaret´s parent´s house. Those were great times. Later in life, Margaret and her husband held an Acker family reunion when Shirley, Alan, Marge and my father Donald were all still alive. This was the last time those four saw each other. Margaret will be missed.
