Marie Colette Soucy

Marie Colette Soucy, 75, of New Britain, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, October 5, 2025. Born in Canada, she was the daughter of Lionel and Laurette (Michaud) Boucher. She came to live in New Britain as a teenager, where she built a life centered around family, faith and hard work. Colette was a devoted employee of the Barnes Group for many years until her retirement. A longtime parishioner of St. Peter's Church, she was deeply dedicated to her family and especially cherished her role as grandmother. Colette found joy in taking cruises with her loved ones, shopping, cooking and spending peaceful days at home with her beloved dog, Charlie. Her warmth, generosity, and love for her family will be forever remembered by those who knew her. She is survived by her four children, Maureen Levesque and her husband Keith of New Britain, Judy Niro of New Britain, Tommy Soucy of Canada, and Tammy Badolato and her husband Nicholas of New Britain, six grandchildren, Samantha Fazio and her husband Christopher, Sierra Prisco, Jacob Levesque, Kendra Levesque, Nicholas Badolato, and Sophia Badolato, and one great grandson on the way. She also leaves behind her siblings, Gisele Beaudet, Ghislain Boucher and his wife Terry, Jean-Claude Boucher, Daniel Boucher, Rita Nadeau, Jules Boucher and his wife Rose, Lucille Caron, and sister-in-law, Lauretta Boucher along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her siblings, Gaston Boucher, Ginette Boucher, Doris Boutin, and Ghislaine Boucher, and her son-in-law, Peter Niro. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at The Hospital of Central Connecticut SICU and to Yale New Haven Health Hematology/Oncology for the exceptional care Colette received. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday, October 13th, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Duksa Family Funeral Home at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, New Britain.
